This tour package highlights a series of historic battles fought between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom in the Anglo-Zulu War that took place in 1879 in Kwa-Zulu Natal. In addition, the tour also enlightens visitors about the Anglo Boer War, exposes visitors the legendary battle sites and to an authentic Zulu community.
Day 1: Sawubona and welcome to KZN
Visitors to check in from 17:00.
Day 2: Battle of Blood River
After a good night’s sleep breakfast is served at the lodge from 7h30 to 9h00.
From 9h00 to 11h00 guests are taken on an Isandlwana community experience. This is followed by an early lunch at 11h00, and thereafter guests leave for Blood River. The expected time of arrival at Blood River is 14h00. For the next hour and thirty minutes you will experience The Blood River Battlefield Tour with the help of an experienced guide.
Guests will arrive back at the accommodation at 16h30.
Day 3: The Battle of Isandlwana and The Battle Rorke’s Drift
It’s another early morning. Breakfast is served at the accommodation at 7h30 to 8h00.
At 8h30 guests check out of the accommodation.
At 9h00 to 12h00 visitors have a guided tour of the Battle of Isandlwana. This is followed by lunch at the Rorke’s Drift Lodge. Shortly after lunch visitors make their way to the sites of the Battle of Rorke’s drift. The tour is just shy of 2hrs (from 13h15 to 15h30).
At 17h30 visitors check into accommodation.
Day 4: The Battle of Spioenkop
At 7h45 to 9h00 breakfast is served at the accommodation. The group will depart for the Battle of Spioenkop straight from the dining hall. This is an extensive tour detailing the Battle of Spioenkop as well as other Anglo Boer War sites. A picnic lunch is served during the tour. The tour takes place from 9h00 to 16h30.
Day 5: Free day and Hamba Kahle
Breakfast is served from 7h45 to 9h00. At 9h00 visitors conclude their stay and check out. There’s one more surprise in store as guests leave for the airport via the scenic Midlands Meander area and visit the Mandela sculpture, from 9h00 to 12h00.
Guests finally arrive at King Shaka Airport at 14h00.
