DAY 1: Dive right in

At 09:00 you will depart on arrival from Upington and head for the Kalahari Red Dune Route. You will arrive at your first destination, the Kalahari Guest House at 10:00, where you will have breakfast, tea, and coffee, as you take in the views from the dam. After your leisurely breakfast, you will leave for Rooipan Guest Farm. You will immediately break for lunch on arrival at 12:30. This will be followed at 14:30 by a game drive, the highlights of which include Bird watching, a 4x4 trail, and a visit to the salt pans. The drive will last a few hours, after which you will make the short drive to the Boesman Rus Grass Huts. You will check in to your accommodation at the huts and have some time to put your feet up. Dinner will be served at 19:00 to sum up a busy first day.

DAY 2: A cultural journey

After a good night’s rest, breakfast is served at Aunt Koera se Kombuis. At 09:00 you will leave for a game drive on The Erin Game Farm. After the game drive, you will return to Aunt Koera se Kombuis for lunch. This will be a relaxed lunch, as you’ll only leave for your next activity, an excursion to The Living Museum at 14:00. The museum excursion will fill up the rest of your day. You will check-in to the Molopo Lodge in the early evening at 18:00. This is where you will lay your head down for the night. But the first dinner will be served at 19:00.

DAY 3: No rest for the Adventurous

Breakfast is served at 08:00 before you set off for the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. You will collect your lunch basket at Kgalagadi Lodge. Once you arrive at 10:00 you will enjoy a full seven hours at the park. Even after all this time on the game drive, it might still be hard to tear yourself away from the imposing red dunes and incredible wildlife. When you finally leave the game drive at 17:00, it will be for the Rooiduine Guest Farm. After a 30-minute drive ou will have your feet up at the guest farm. Dinner will be served at 19:00.

DAY 4: Wild at heart

Breakfast will again be served at 08:00. You’ll need all the energy for the 3 hours of sandboarding you will be doing down the nearby dunes. At 12:00 you will drive to Dreghorn Game Farm where you will dig into a well-deserved lunch. This will be followed by a Game Drive on the farm, where you will experience both its unique selection of wildlife and rugged landscape. At 18:30 you will check-in to their luxurious tented camp. Dinner will be served a short while later before turning in for the night.

DAY 5: Easy does it

The last full day gets off to cracking start at 07:00. At 08:00 you will take a Donkey Cart Ride around the farm. At 11:00 you will leave for Loch Maree Guest Farm and on your arrival at 13:00 lunch will be served on the saltpans. This is another leisurely lunch. At 15:00 you will make the 30-minute journey by car to Rea Guest House and Bush Camp. Once you’ve checked in and had some time to catch your breath, you will sip on some Sundowners as you feast on the spectacular sights of the surrounds. To top it all off, dinner is sure to be a treat. This will be served as usual at 19:00.

DAY 6: Homeward bound

You will leave the guest farm at 08:00 in order to get to Diamond T coffee shop for a 09:00 breakfast. This is the last savoury bit of a magical five days in one of the largest protected natural ecosystems in the world.
